PRESENTATION TO
THE CANADIAN RADIO-TELEVISION AND
TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION
(NOTE: This is point form material. Arthur spoke from the heart and without script for most of his presentation. The transcript of the hearings will provide greater depth and will be posted on Turtle Island Native Network when it is available)
I’m very honored to speak on behalf of our Aboriginal Veterans of B.C.
Having the Aboriginal Voices Radio, come to the Vancouver area will be very beneficial to all listeners. We believe it will offer round table discussions, spirituality and teachings, language and cultural lessons and news . Aboriginal Voices Radio will improve communications and relations with each other. These components will:
1) help the National Aboriginal Veterans to hear the many issues and concerns we have. example: unresolved issues , current issues, ongoing concerns
2) enable us to make informed decisions on support for other issues and concerns
example: support to other organizations, societies, etc
3) improve the quality of life by listening to very diversified programming
example :music, stories, discussions etc.
4) educate all listeners about the lives of aboriginal veterans, before during and after the wars they fought in for Canada.
example lifestyle, training, travel, return, loss of land, status, etc.
5) inform all listeners of past, ongoing and future activities and goals
example of organizations, communities, etc.
WE BELIEVE THE ABORIGINAL VOICES RADIO WILL ENHANCE ‘UNITY, DIGNITY, AND HEALING’ AMONG ALL THE LISTENERS.
