Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS)
is the medical term
used to describe certain birth defects
that result from drinking alcohol during pregnancy.

Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAE)
is a similar condition
which has some, but not all, of the characteristics of FAS

Alcohol-Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder (ARND)
effects of prenatal alcohol/drug exposure on the developing brain
The only indicators of this physical disability
are found in learning and other behavioral characteristics

Alcohol Related Birth Defects ARBD
Full-blown fetal alcohol syndrome represents only the tip of the iceberg
relative to all alcohol-related birth defects
