Sechelt FirstNation Repatriation of Sacred Stone Figure

The Vancouver Museum is returning a sacred carved granite stone figure to the Sechelt First Nation . . .

Considered by some the finest prehistoric carving in the region, the Sechelt Image depicts a mother holding a child.

On Friday, October 15th, 2010 Chief Gary Feschuk of the Sechelt Indian Band (shíshálh First Nation)
led a delegation to Museum of Vancouver (MOV)
to reclaim a prehistoric stone sculpture of enduring spiritual significance to his people . . .
