Highlighting academic achievements - Awards and internships for outstanding Aboriginal students

Montreal, July 11, 2003

Hydro-Québec announced the names of the winners of its 2003 Awards of Excellence, which recognize Aboriginal students who excel in their studies.

This year, six college and university students from a pool of 34 candidates received awards.

Nominations came from seven of the eleven First Nations in Quebec.

Two of the award winners are university students and four are college
students.

Along with a prize of $2,000 each, the two university students will participate in a 12-week human resources internship at Hydro-Québec in Montréal or Saguenay.

The four college students received a prize of $1,000 each.
