For the First Time in 35 years a Totem Was Raised by the Nuxalk People at Bella Coola Nuxalk

The occasion June 21, 2002 was very special - the raising of a pole at Acwsalcta School, a totem pole carved by students and their teacher. Nuxalk chiefs in full regalia helped lead the ceremonies. The photos here are posted with the permission of Chief and Council at Bella Coola. Thanks to Valerie Mack!
